A stone bench, so cool to the touch, offers a solid contrast to a garden’s lushness and provides a place to park yourself and get centered. I designed this bench with 3 stone bases and planted pachysandra underneath for contrast.

Ah, summer! Where I live, it's the season for settling into the cool shade with a glass of iced tea—or perhaps something a bit stronger. There's nothing quite like being outdoors in a garden to help us unwind and step away from the bustle of everyday life.

To deepen that sense of calm, try sitting on a stone bench. Why stone? Because it quite literally grounds us—tuning our bodies to the Earth's geomagnetic energy and creating a quiet connection to the natural world.

The Journal of Environmental and Public Health reported “...that grounding the human body represents a “universal regulating factor in Nature” that strongly influences bioelectrical, bioenergetic, and biochemical processes and appears to offer a significant modulating effect on chronic illnesses encountered daily in their clinical practices…” source: Studies

A stone seat at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden in Texas invites you to sit a spell. The solidity of the stone is a striking contrast to the green foliage that surrounds it.
